1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the kaahani mobile application and website (together, the "Service"), operated by CHRONOSEIZE 42 TECH PRIVATE LIMITED, a company registered in India (the "Company", "we", "us"). By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of the service

kaahani is an entertainment service offering original interactive fiction. Stories may be experienced in different formats, including conversational stories in which fictional characters exchange messages with you, branching stories in which you choose what happens next, and scene-based stories you move through at your own pace. Parts of the Service are available free of charge; other parts require a paid subscription.

3. Eligibility

You can accept these Terms yourself only if you are 18 or older, or have reached the age of majority where you live. Between the ages of 13 and 18, you may use kaahani only when a parent or legal guardian consents to these Terms for you, supervises your use, and takes responsibility for it, including any payments made.

kaahani is not built for children under 13. We do not knowingly hold personal information belonging to anyone under 13, and we delete any such information as soon as we discover it.

You must also be permitted to use the Service under the laws that apply to you.

4. Accounts and identity

You may use parts of the Service through a device-based identity without creating a full account. You are responsible for the security of your device and for all activity that occurs through your identity on the Service. Information you provide must be accurate.

5. Fiction and AI disclosure

• Every story, character, and message on kaahani is fiction. Characters are not real people.
• Character responses in conversational stories are generated by artificial-intelligence models and may occasionally be inaccurate or inappropriate.
• Any resemblance of stories or characters to real persons or events is coincidental.
• The Service is entertainment. It is not a source of professional, medical, legal, or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for professional mental health care.

6. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations;
• Harass, abuse, or harm others;
• Submit illegal, harmful, or objectionable content;
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or extract the Service's software, models, or content;
• Record, copy, download, or redistribute stories, artwork, or other content outside the app;
• Circumvent content protection, access controls, or usage limits;
• Access the Service through bots, scripts, or automated systems.

7. Subscriptions and payments

• Paid subscriptions are billed in advance for the plan period you choose.
• Prices are displayed in Indian Rupees (INR) inside the app and include applicable taxes.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• We may offer free trials at our discretion. A small amount may be charged to verify your payment method. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the trial converts automatically to a paid subscription.
• Plan prices may change. Changes apply from your next billing cycle, never in the middle of a period you have already paid for.
• Payments are processed by the app store you purchased through or by our authorized payment processors. Recurring payments may be collected under a payment mandate you authorize (for example UPI AutoPay), which you can cancel at any time.
• Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

8. Service availability and changes

The catalog changes over time. We may add, update, or remove stories, episodes, and features at any time, and we do not guarantee that any particular story or feature will remain available for the duration of your subscription. We may also modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service for maintenance, upgrades, or business reasons.

9. Intellectual property

All content, features, and functionality of the Service, including stories, characters, artwork, text, graphics, logos, and software, are owned by the Company or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. The content is licensed to you, not sold: your subscription grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to access the content for private entertainment; it does not transfer any ownership to you.

10. User content

You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service (such as messages and choices). By using the Service, you grant us a licence to:

• Process your content to provide the Service, including generating character responses;
• Store your content securely;
• Use anonymized, aggregated data to improve the Service.

11. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service you consent to that collection and use.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI-GENERATED RESPONSES WILL BE ACCURATE OR APPROPRIATE.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE COMPANY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Company and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Service.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. On termination we may delete your account and associated data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

17. General

These Terms are the entire agreement between you and the Company regarding the Service. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets; you may not assign yours.

18. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.

Complaints are acknowledged within 48 hours and resolved within one month of receipt. Complaints about content, including copyright complaints, may be sent to the same email.
